Roofpro is looking for ideal candidates for the position of full-time Roofing Labourer in the Nanaimo area.
The ideal candidate will be honest, punctual, and hardworking. Candidates should also have good communication skills and must able to work in a team with supervisors, and co-workers to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines.
This is a physically demanding job, and applicants must be willing to work full days and be able to lift at least 50lbs safely. Experience in roofing is an asset.
All candidates must have access to a reliable vehicle and be able to commute to job sites in the Nanaimo area and Central Vancouver Island.
We offer competitive starting wages from $20 to $35/hr depending on experience, with raises given for consistent professionalism and high quality work over a period of time.
We work Monday to Friday, and usually start at 7am and finish before 4pm. This can sometimes vary depending on the job we are currently working on.
DUTIES:
As a member of our Roofing team, you will be installing a variety of roofing systems.
– Installing, repairing or replacing a variety of roofing systems
– Using ladders and scaffolding to gain access to the roof
– Using hand and power tools to do installation and repairs
– Shovel loose materials such as sand, gravel, metals, and plastics
– Site set up: load, unload, stack and move required materials to the site
– Removing and disposing of old roofing materials
– Assist roofers by carrying tools and materials and helping in other roofing activities
– Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use and securing the job site on a daily basis
– Job site clean-up
– Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit
– Follow all health and safety regulations at the work site
– Other duties as required
REQUIREMENTS
– Knowledge of various roofing systems is an asset
– Must be punctual and reliable
– On site work environment is outdoors and subject to all weather conditions
– Driver’s license and your own transportation is considered an asset
– Can safely operate vehicles, mechanical devices and/or equipment
– Ability to work at various heights while adhering to safety protocols
– Can perform physical activity on regular basis
– Fluent in the English language and can clearly communicate with supervisors, clients, and co-workers
– Be able to follow and understand safe work procedures
